Hi everyone,
Tom Smith here! Just wanted to let you all know a little bit more about the man behind the guitars.
I have been building guitars since 2008. I got into building when my son was very young and started playing the guitar. I didn’t know how to play and wanted to be somehow involved in that aspect of his life. One day I said to him, “I’m going to build you a guitar.”
I’ve always had a lot of drive, actually more like an obsession when it comes to accomplishing something I want, and I wanted to build a guitar badly. That being said, I did a bit of research, bought some tools and wood, and I went for it. I consider myself a person who needs to learn from their own mistakes as opposed to being schooled. I also take constructive criticism to heart. Every mistake I’ve ever made and every criticism I’ve received related to a guitar has led me to where I am as a builder today.
I am a 100% self-taught non-playing guitar builder, and I am very proud of that. I am also proud of the fact that I am the only one who builds your instrument from the initial gluing of the wood to the final setup adjustment. I take a lot of pride in what I put out with my logo on it. My goal is to NEVER let you down as a customer. I want my guitar to be the absolute best sounding, playing, and looking instrument you’ve ever played or ever will play, until your next TWS that is.
I thrive on one-to-one communication throughout the entire ordering process right through the build process. I’m known for sharing photos and asking questions in real-time while I’m building your instrument. I believe communication is a key point to you loving what I make you as opposed to just liking it. I want you to feel involved in the process.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you have learned something new about me.
Give me the chance to build your next custom instrument; I guarantee you will be glad you did!
